Chemdoodle

Generate solutions to challenges and learning area tasks

Chemdoodle has a large range of Chemistry drawing tools to aid students visualisation of chemical bonds in molecules and many extras

Access: Website driven, BYOD friendly, YouTube videos used, Mobile App

Cost: Free to use, Premium available

Suitable for: Students and Teachers

The tools on this site can be used to draw chemical structures more accurately for students to visualise and challenge their comprehension.

The use of simulations in Chemdoodle allow students to “interact with one another, the equipment and the environment in a goal-oriented way.” (Dieckmann, 2009). Teachers can use this resource to make highly detailed chemical bonds and add any information which is required depending on the year level to engage critical thought. Having a mobile app version also provides a tool for students to use at home during explanations with other family members.
